​My 25 year career in the field of mental health has taken a nontraditional path. After obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW), I conducted prevention programming in k-12 educational settings and worked extensively with adjudicated and at risk populations.  After several years in this role I elected to pursue my Master of Social Work (MSW) in hopes of becoming a licensed mental health therapist.  Once I became licensed as a therapist, I realized that my true calling was to become a psychologist. This required that I return to school and obtain doctoral training in psychology. I currently have dual professional identities and licenses. I am a Licensed Psychologist as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Georgia.

I have extensive clinical experience, have provided services to diverse populations,  and have worked with a range of presenting concerns. Currently, I work exclusively with adults ages 18 and older.  I specialize working with with anxiety, depression, OCD, performance anxiety, burnout, trauma, stress management, self doubt and issues related to men's health & wellness.  I incorporate a strength based, ethical, pragmatic, down-to-earth, and culturally affirming approach.

 

In addition to my clinical practice, I am also a tenured associate professor of psychology at a local university.  I have worked in higher education for more than 15 years where my aim is to train and mentor the next generation of helping professionals.  ​

 

Away from work, my primary duties involve time with my family, martial arts, BBQing, trying to be handy around the house and watching sports, primarily college football. Go Canes!!!
